Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

My new favorite
This is my third pair of Lems that own and I love them. Easily the most comfortable shoe that I own. I did have one little hiccup with this shoe. The foam pad on the heel came loose, only about a month after buying them, and it made the shoe very uncomfortable. However, I told Lems about it and they covered it under their warranty and the process to exchange for a new pair was very easy and smooth.

Comfortable, light, breathable, minimalist
Perfect walking/hiking shoe. I prefer the Mesa over the Trailhead because it's noticeably lighter because of its more breathable upper, which I prefer for long hikes, especially when it's hot. Allows your feet to breathe (and besides, I don't make a habit of walking into sage brush and so don't need a more "rugged" upper). Give me lighter and breathable any day. I also reeaaaallly like the sock upper, which just fits my foot so nicely. Give it a couple of weeks to stretch out a little when putting it on. And quick drying, too? And with the 4mm rise? C'mon... this is as close to minimalist footwear you can get and still not feel like you're sacrificing your foot's bone/tendon structure on super long hikes, like the one I'll be taking in the Grand Canyon in July, rim-to-rim (and in 100+degree heat). Been there, done that, but this time, it'll be in my new favorite shoe. Bring it.
